Beste leden,
Door de winterse weersomstandigheden kunnen de karatelessen van woensdagavond geen doorgang hebben.
De directie van het ROC heeft zojuist besloten om woensdag de school niet te openen.
Op woensdagochtend horen we van de directie of donderdag kan doorgaan.
In dat geval willen we donderdag 8 januari de 55+ karateavond openstellen voor de groep 13+ en volwassenen 20:15-21:45 uur.
Dit is echt een vervelende overmachtssituatie.
Jammer dat we 2026 niet wat beter hadden kunnen beginnen.

Dear members,
Due to the winter weather conditions, the karate lessons on Wednesday evening cannot take place.
The ROC management has just decided not to open the school on Wednesday.
We’ll hear from the management on Wednesday morning whether Thursday will go ahead.
If so, we’d like to open the 55+ karate evening on Thursday, January 8th, to the 13+ age group and adults from 8:15 PM to 9:45 PM.
This is really an annoying circumstance beyond control.
It’s a pitty we couldn’t have started 2026 a little better.

Look👀 we made a new logo for Samurette’s Girls-Karate Dojo!
In April 2025 ki club.cool launched a special karate class for girls (12-18 yr).
With the introduction of this girls-only-karate-class we wanted to make a positive contribution to increase the safety and freedom of girls.💪
NEW IN 2026:
After the Christmas holidays, Samurette’s Girls-Karate Dojo will be open for women of 18 years and older too!👍

Op donderdag 20 november 2025 sluiten we een reeks karatelessen af die onze karateschool kiclub.cool gehouden heeft in het mooie Noord-Hollandse dorp Oosthuizen (gemeente Edam-Volendam). Op uitnodiging van @stichtingsportkoepel

Kinderen in de leeftijd van 5 t/m 12 jaar van obs De Koningsspil en bso Berend Botje konden met de grondbeginselen van karate kennismaken en hún weerbaarheid versterken.
Wij vonden het heel erg leuk om te doen en willen iedereen bedanken voor hun deelname. Tevens, wanneer je overweegt verder te willen met karatetraining nodigen we je van harte uit om eens bij ons langs te komen op onze locatie in Monnickendam op vrijdagavonden van 19:00-20:30 uur.

ki: (JPN), Chi (CHN), Prana (IND), Pneuma (GRC) betekent vitale levensenergie. Ki is de bron van al het leven. Bij de geboorte krijgt men deze levensenergie mee en door adem te halen ververst deze energie zich. Zonder ki geen leven. Traditionele Aziatische zelfverdedigingskunsten pogen ki te cultiveren om de gezondheid te bevorderen. Zo ook bij ki club.cool waar je je lichaam leert te vullen met ki en het krachtig te gebruiken.
club: ki club.cool is een community, een club waar je lid van kan worden en mensen kunt ontmoeten. Een van de doelstellingen van de club is het onderling contact tussen leden te bevorderen in een sfeer van vertrouwen en respect. Het Japanse begrip Rei dat buigen betekent neemt een belangrijke plaats in binnen het karate-do. Het drukt respect uit jegens jezelf, anderen en je omgeving en is gekoppeld aan etiquette en goede manieren.
cool: ‘wie wil er nou niet cool zijn?’ Cool verwijst o.a. naar mentale discipline; ‘het hoofd koel houden’ of ‘een kalme geest’. Karate technieken zijn meestal zeer explosief, krachtig en snel, maar ze worden gecontroleerd uitgevoerd en altijd met ‘tegenwoordigheid van geest’. Een karate-ka dient zich ten alle tijden bewust te zijn van zijn/haar acties. Dit ontwikkelt zelfkennis en het vermogen in tijden van nood het juiste te doen.
ki club.cool is opgericht in Amsterdam in 1994 door Thérèse Zoekende (4e Dan KWF / 3e Dan JKA) en Patrick Koster (4e Dan JKA). Bij ki club.cool wordt traditioneel Shotokan Karate-do beoefend volgens de filosofie van karategrootmeester Gichin Funakoshi. De club is aangesloten bij Karatenomichi World Federation Nederland (KWF-NL, gelieerd aan KWF in Tokyo, Japan) en de Karate-do Bond Nederland (KBN, gelieerd aan WFK).
about ki: (JPN), chi (CHN), prana (IND), pneuma (GRC) means vital life energy. Ki is the source of all life. At birth one “receives” this life energy and by breathing it refreshes itself. There is no life without ki. Traditional Asian self-defense arts aim to cultivate ki to promote health. Similarly at ki club.cool where you learn to fill your body with ki and use it powerfully.
club: ki club.cool is a community, a club where you can join and meet people. One of the club’s objectives is to promote mutual contact between members in an atmosphere of trust and respect. The Japanese concept of Rei, which means bending, occupies an important place in karate-do. It expresses respect towards yourself, others and your environment and is linked to etiquette and good manners.
“Who doesn’t want to be cool?” Cool refers, among other things, to mental discipline; “Keep a cool head” and “a calm mind”. Karate techniques are usually very explosive, powerful and fast, but they are controlled and technically performed and always with “presence of mind”. A karateka must be aware of his / her actions at all times. This develops self-knowledge and the ability to do the right thing in times of need.
ki club.cool was founded in Amsterdam in 1994 by Thérèse Zoekende (4th Dan KWF / 3rd Dan JKA) and Patrick Koster (4th Dan JKA). At ki club.cool, traditional Shotokan Karate-do is practiced according to the philosophy of karate master Gichin Funakoshi.
